How the referral works

Chicago Repair Co is a phone line, not a repair shop. Here is exactly what happens when you call, and what to ask before anyone touches your appliance.

How it works

What happens when you call

  1. You call

Tell us what’s broken, the brand and your ZIP code. The call is free.

  2. We connect you to a technician

Your call goes to an independent repair provider serving your area. We are not that provider: they schedule the visit and do the work.

  3. You pay the technician

The technician quotes the diagnostic fee and the repair before starting. You pay them directly; we never charge you.

More on how the referral works

Who shows up

An appliance technician from an independent repair business that has agreed to take calls for your area. They are not our employees. They carry their own tools and parts, and they are the ones who diagnose the fault and quote the job.

Because they run their own business, prices, diagnostic fees, parts warranties and arrival windows vary from one provider to the next. Ask about all four on the phone.

How we get paid

Repair providers and call-routing partners pay us for connected calls. You are not charged for the referral, and it does not add anything to your bill.

Why this setup helps

Independent appliance technicians are busy people who often miss calls while they are on a job. One number that routes to someone available in your ZIP code saves you working down a list.

Questions about the service

Is there a charge for using this service?
No. You pay only the technician, and only for what you agree to.
Who is responsible for the repair?
The repair provider who does the work. They set the price, give any warranty on parts and labor, and handle any follow-up. The full detail is on the disclaimer page.
What if nobody can come when I need them?
Call back and say so. We will try to connect you with another provider serving your area, but we cannot promise a time slot that no local provider has open.
My appliance is under manufacturer warranty. Should I call you?
Call the manufacturer first. Warranty repairs usually have to go through the manufacturer’s own service network to be covered. Brand pages on this site link to each manufacturer’s service page.
