Using the 10-year parts warranty
If a Maytag washer’s motor has failed in years two through ten, the motor itself may be free under the limited warranty, and you pay only labor. That can change a repair-or-replace decision completely.
To use it, you need the model and serial number and the purchase date. Warranty work is arranged through Maytag’s own service, so contact Maytag first for covered parts. Non-warranty problems like pumps, belts, lid locks and dryer heating elements are ordinary repairs any appliance technician can handle.
Common Maytag repairs
Maytag models use Whirlpool-family diagnostics, so the fault codes and parts are often the same as on the equivalent Whirlpool machine. Check your model’s manual for its code list.
